How many invitations do we need?

You need one invitation per couple, not per person.

Use this formula:

TOTAL NUMBER OF GUESTS  x  65%

Invitations are sold in 25's so round UP and be sure to order extras - we've never seen a guest list shrink!

FAQs

Got questions?

Well... you've come to the right spot! We've created hundreds of wedding invitations, so we're glad you've asked!

While each wedding is unique, there are some common threads. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about wedding invitations...

What parts and pieces do we need?

A TYPICAL INVITATION ENSEMBLE CONSISTS OF:

The invitation, reply set, and a reception card if the party is at a different location than the ceremony.

These are placed in an envelope with a return address printed on the flap. More traditional styles also include a inner envelope as a formality, usually with a decorative liner.

Other essentials include: accommodations card, direction card and/or website card and thank you notes. If you have a wedding website it's great to include the information on a small card in lieu of the separate information cards.

How much do invitations cost?

It depends on the quantity, design and printing method.

Our invitations start at about $450 for 100 invitations, reply sets and reception cards. On average, our couples spend between $800 and $1500 on their invitations.

Our caterer needs to know the dinner choice

for each guest. How do we do that?

On the reply card we will create a section where guests will indicate their entree selection (see photo above). When you order your invitation we simply need the basic food choices, not a firm menu. We won't need full dinner details until we create the dinner menu.

What is proper wording for our wedding invitation?

There is proper etiquette to wording your wedding invitation. Who's hosting, complex family scenarios, and location all factor in. No worries! â€‹You can find classic wording suggestions on our website and when you place your order at On Paper, be assured we will navigate all of the nuances and guide you to a perfectly worded invitation.

Can you create custom designs?

Yes! We have a professional Graphic Designer on staff and can create a unique design especially for you. There is an additional fee for this service, starting at $100 and up.

Can you print our own design files?

Yes! We will review your files, suggest the best printing method and provide a custom quote based on your design and budget. â€‹â€‹â€‹Files should be print ready, high resolution PDFs with all vectors outlined. There are fees associated with adjusting files that are not print ready.

What is the process for ordering wedding invitations?

Meeting 1

At your first appointment we will  discuss your overall wedding vision and brainstorm invitations which compliment that vision. We represent many printers and literally have thousands of options to choose from. With nearly 20 years of experience, we are experts at helping you narrow your invitation selection to one that suits both your taste, and budget. We will prepare an estimate of your selections and provide a written quote either at your appointment, or shortly after, by email.

Meeting 2

We place the order. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required.

After we receive your deposit, we write your wording based on your individual etiquette requirements.

Within a week of placing your order you will receive a digital proof. This enables you to see all of your text in the fonts you have selected.

We ask that you review your proof in a timely manner (a week or so). We then make the changes you require, or, once perfect, proceed to print.

Once the proof is approved no changes can be made.

Within 3 - 4 weeks your invitation will be ready and voila -  it's official - you're getting married!

Meeting 3

We'll schedule another session to create all of the accompanying "day of" accessories. From programs, menus and place cards to bridesmaids gifts, guest book and thank you notes... we'll blend it all to create a seamless, perfect event!
